Is it realistic to expect an 18 year old to support themselves?

Honestly, if they have been good students, responsible kids since 11 years old I think it is realistic. They will be set on working hard getting good jobs with good pay and have a cute little apartment. Honestly, I can just imagine :D I would love to support myself (if I had a good paying job which I don't :( So it's hard but it is realistic. You can never have anything right unless you work hard. That sure is one hard life lesson
